Asthmatic Kitty Records : Cryptacize » Mythomania
Not that it’s a competition, but I think I’m starting to like Cryptacize more than I like Deerhoof.  (For those not nerding along, Chris Cohen from Cryptacize used to be in Deerhoof, and they share some sonic elements, hence my linking the two.)  Now, I love Deerhoof, and would probably punch myself in the gut for saying that a couple years ago, but I really enjoy how lush and melodic the Cryptacize songs are, and how big-hearted it all is.  There’s love in these songs, and some sadness.  Also, the singers (both of them) have really nice voices, which is something you don’t get in indie rock so much.  So yeah, looking forward to the new album.  Check the mini-mix preview thing at the link above.  Special thanks to the wonderful MBV for the tip.
