Nice, short interview with Justin from Muxtape over at the New Yorker. This part jumped out at me:
My model for generating revenue is selling enhanced functionality to bands and users rather than running ads. There will be a core version of the site that is free and doesn’t feel crippled, but certain things like selling downloads or merchandise, or getting access to more in-depth statistical information, will be paid features for bands.
Interesting that he’s choosing this approach over the ad-supported model that is (was?) all the rage these days. I’ll be rooting for them.
