A hidden hoard of recordings made by the electronic music pioneer behind the Doctor Who theme has been revealed - including a dance track 20 years ahead of its time.

They’re not kidding. Listen to this track, reportedly recorded in the late 60s. I can’t place the exact track, but it definitely sounds very close to at least one early Aphex Twin recording. Pretty mindblowing. Thanks to Jessica Hopper for the tip.

UPDATE: Looks like Aphex actually issued a comp of old Radiophonic Workshop stuff on Rephlex, the first LP of which consists entirely of Delia Derbyshire stuff. Full circle then!
