The Dead Weather “Are Friends Electric?” (via yvynyl)

This is the new “Jack White plus the girl from The Kills” band. I thought that might be a good combo, and based on this song, it is. I’ve always loved this track (originally by Tubway Army/Gary Numan, peep game) — add in some fuzzed-out distorto guitar riffs and it’s pretty much game over. You win this round, music!

And just for fun, here’s the circa-2001 Richard X mash-up (remember those?) pairing “Friends” with Adina Howard’s immortal “Freak Like Me.” The Sugababes version of this song that was ALL OVER the radio when I lived in London in 2002, and I wasn’t complaining really. Listening to the “original” now, it’s still super enjoyable. Take two good songs, put them together, sometimes it sounds good. But I digress.
