“For me, this will be the enduring memory of election night 2008: One generation released its grief. The next looked up confusedly, eager to please and yet unable to comprehend just what the tears were about.”

The Dangerous Panic On The Far Right →

McCain is playing with fire. If he really wants to put country first, he will attack Obama on his policies - not on these inflammatory, personal, creepy grounds.
Thank you, Andrew Sullivan.  And might I add that the McCain campaign’s twisting of what was clearly a speech in support of regulation into a push for “deregulation” is dishonest in the extreme.  Country first, my ass.

“I know that John McCain will do that and I, as his vice president, families we are blessed with that vote of the American people and are elected to serve and are sworn in on January 20, that will be our top priority is to defend the American people.”

Barracuda

Did anyone else notice the Republicans played Heart’s “Barracuda” like 3 songs after McCain finished his speech at the convention last night? WTF? I’d really like to have been there for the decision making process behind that one: “This song is just BAD ASS — John McCain is a bad ass! YEAH ADDING TO PLAYLIST!!” And it looks like Heart is confused, and rightfully pissed, too.
