Couple things. First, this is really amazing cover art. Second, this album has some really great songs on it. That’s all.

Enjoying the hand-drawn styles of the Smallville record label and shop. The new Moomin album they just put out is nice too — low key dusty house vibes.

Cover art for Chris Smither’s I’m A Stranger Too. Milton Glaser designed the sleeve for Smither’s Don’t Drag It On, and I’m wondering if he had something to do with this as well. The bold colors and whimsicality here certainly seem Glaser-ish. And speaking of Glaser, if you haven’t seen this nice little documentary about the man that’s streaming on Netflix, then maybe you should. He’s a lovely guy.

FYI, I really love The Beatles. Bought the remastered White Album and Abbey Road today, and absolutely can’t wait to listen to both of them on headphones on the way to work tomorrow. I’m gonna reblog some album art now! (via waxandmilk)

Just stumbled onto the design portfolio of wkem™ aka Patrick Corrigan. It’s a little more “techno” than I usually go for (and no, I’m not entirely sure what I mean by that), but very well executed. Turns out he’s also the one behind all those nice San Francisco International Film Fest posters I saw around town a while back. Small world/web/coast/city.

The Skatelites The Skatalite! (Treasure Isle)
We recently signed the Treasure Isle catalog at IODA, and I for one am seriously excited. In addition to having tons of absolutely fantastic rocksteady, ska, and reggae jams, they also have some of the greatest album art ever. Exciting.

Orange Juice “Poor Old Soul” (Postcard, 1981)
Now that’s some nice cover art. This article (where I found it) makes me miss the Woebot blog and all those nice, big cover art scans.
Here’s the A-side:

The cover art for RAC’s Diversions, as mentioned in the last post. Not sure who designed it, but it definitely looks like an early Designers Republic joint. Simple, clever, and effective. And hey, kinda fun!
