Blitzen Trapper “The Man Who Would Speak True” (Live in Santa Barbara 7/11/09)

This is the sole new track Blitzen Trapper’s been playing on their current, about to be completed tour. Simple, heartfelt, good stuff. You can watch the entire show here, as filmed by a bunch of UCSB film students (awesome!). Finally, if you live in Seattle, you should go see BT for free at Seattle Center with Throw Me The Statue tonight.

Blitzen Trapper with Fleet Foxes - Furr (via sosocceror)

Yesss! I heard this happened, and was really hoping someone would post video — and here it is. This sounds great, and it’s so cool hearing Robin from Fleet Foxes on backing vocals. Foxes also covered “Furr” during their set, with Robin on lead vox and Blitzen backing up. Really hope someone posts that too. This took place this past Wednesday night, on the last night of the tour, in Eugene. If you can’t tell there’s a lot of love between these bands. Awesome.

Alela Diane - “Every Path” (DUMBO West Session)

Nice to see Rough Trade continuing with these beautifully shot, intimate performance videos for Alela. She’s a talented lady, and a total sweetheart. You can purchase the new album in a bunch of formats (including double vinyl and FLAC) here, and I posted the other video here.

Alela Diane DUMBO session: My Brambles | Pitchfork.tv

Here’s a little sunshine for you. Alela, her dad, and her boyfriend, filmed at a funky old church (that’s called The Funky Church) in Portland, Oregon. Just three people who love each other making lovely music about love. It’s a good thing.

“You really blew our minds,” an astonished emcee said while introducing the performance. “We only expected a lot less people than showed up. I think you are a lot wiser than we were.”
